Where to Stay & Eat on Koh Samui

KOHME delivers food, activities and transport across every part of the island. Here's a quick local guide to the main areas.

Chaweng

Chaweng is Samui's busiest beach and the island's main hub for nightlife, shopping and dining. The long white-sand beach is backed by a dense strip of restaurants, bars and the Central Festival mall. It's where most visitors base themselves, and it's the easiest area for late-night food delivery — cafes, burger joints, sushi and Thai kitchens all deliver here through KOHME until late.

Lamai

Lamai sits just south of Chaweng and is a more relaxed, better-value alternative with an excellent beach of its own. It's popular with long-stay travellers and families, and home to the famous Hin Ta & Hin Yai (Grandfather & Grandmother) rock formations. You'll find a good mix of local Thai eateries and international restaurants, plus the Lamai night market on Sundays.

Bophut & Fisherman's Village

Bophut, on the north coast, is home to Fisherman's Village — a charming stretch of restored Chinese-Thai shophouses turned into boutiques, cafes and waterfront restaurants. It's Samui's most atmospheric dining area, especially during the Friday Walking Street market. Bophut is calmer and more upscale than Chaweng, and a short ride from Big Buddha and the airport.

Maenam

Maenam is the quiet, laid-back north-western corner of Samui, with a long peaceful beach and a genuine local village feel. It's the pick for travellers who want to escape the crowds, and it's the departure point for boats to Koh Phangan. Dining here leans local and low-key, and KOHME riders cover Maenam for both food delivery and scooter rentals.

Can I rent a scooter on Koh Samui?

Yes. KOHME partners with trusted local rental shops so you can book a scooter, motorbike or car with honest prices and no deposit games. See options on the rentals page, or read our scooter rental guide first.

How do taxis work on Koh Samui with KOHME?

KOHME connects you directly with local drivers through the app — no middleman markups and clear pricing before you ride. It's a simple way to get from the airport, around Chaweng and Lamai, or to Fisherman's Village without haggling.

Is KOHME cheaper than Grab on Koh Samui?

KOHME is built for the islands with lower fees than the big platforms, which usually means better prices on food delivery and transport — and more of what you pay goes to local restaurants and drivers rather than a large marketplace.

What areas of Koh Samui does KOHME cover?

We cover the whole island: Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut and Fisherman's Village, Maenam, Bang Rak (Big Buddha), Choeng Mon and the airport area. If you're staying anywhere on Samui, you can order food, book activities and arrange transport in the app.
